Kompleks Sultan Abu Bakar CIQ: Malaysia’s checkpoint at the Second Link

Kompleks Sultan Abu Bakar (KSAB) is Malaysia’s customs, immigration and quarantine complex at Tanjung Kupang, Gelang Patah, Johor, at the Malaysian end of the Second Link. It is the Malaysian counterpart of Singapore’s Tuas Checkpoint: a Second Link trip clears Tuas on the Singapore side and KSAB on the Malaysian side. CausewayPulse’s Tuas cameras show Singapore-side overviews only, not KSAB.

Where it is

The Royal Malaysian Customs Department lists Kompleks Sultan Abu Bakar at 343 Jalan Bukit Kucing, Tanjung Kupang, 81560 Gelang Patah, Johor. The Immigration Department of Malaysia’s Johor portal lists the checkpoint as operating 24 hours.

How KSAB relates to Tuas Checkpoint

  1. Singapore to Malaysia by the Second Link: clear Singapore at Tuas Checkpoint, cross the bridge, then clear Malaysia at KSAB.
  2. Malaysia to Singapore by the Second Link: clear Malaysia at KSAB first, then Singapore at Tuas Checkpoint.
  3. The Causeway route uses a different pair: Woodlands Checkpoint in Singapore and Bangunan Sultan Iskandar in Johor Bahru.

How to check the Malaysian side

Use official Malaysian pages directly: the Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM) CCTV page for expressway cameras, and the Immigration Department of Malaysia Johor portal for checkpoint notices. A camera image is evidence at its own time, not a waiting time.
